General Information
Visitors
We do not allow visitors in class. There are observation windows and security cameras for your convenience. Special consideration is given to out-of-town guests. There will be a parent visitation week just before we break for the Christmas Holiday where all family and friends are invited to sit in on classes and attend our holiday parties. We also “share” many routines throughout the year with other classes and parents are invited to sit in on these “sharing times” as well.
Absence/Attendance
No refunds or discounts are given for classes missed. If a student is absent due to illness or injury, missed classes can be made up in a comparable class. Students are encouraged to watch class when they cannot participate as long as they are not contagious. (*Remember fever free and diarrhea free for 24 hours please*)
Please keep in mind that good attendance is important to the progress of the student. If a student misses too much class, it could affect their skill development and placement for the following year.
Discontinuing Lessons
To drop a class, please notify the studio office in writing. DO NOT tell the instructor! You are still responsible for payment of tuition until this notification.
Cancelled Classes
Any classes cancelled due to bad weather or other emergency may be made up in another comparable class.
Annual Recital
*Our recital is held at Decatur’s historic Princess Theater the 3rd weekend in May.
*Studio rehearsals take place the week preceding the show, with a technical rehearsal and dress rehearsal at the theater 2 days prior to the show.
*Students must be present at the dress rehearsal to participate in the recital.
*Students must have a zero balance to participate in the recital.
*Recital seating is reserved. Tickets are sold at the Princess Theater several weeks prior to the show.
*A Recital Information Packet will be given to you explaining all recital related events about 2 months prior to the show.
Holidays
The studio will close for the following holidays ONLY:
-Labor Day (this is our only Monday holiday)
-Halloween
-Thanksgiving (we take the entire week)
-Christmas
-New Year’s
-Spring Break
The studio follows the Decatur City School calendar for the above listed holidays. We do not take any other holidays the school system does, particularly Monday holidays. If you chose to take a holiday we do not, you may make up that class some other time.
